Should I stop my immunosuppressant because of warts?
No. Speak with the prescribing clinician before any change.
Patient question guide · Published
If you have a condition or medicine that weakens immunity and develop multiple wart-like growths, do not stop prescribed medicine on your own. Prepare the diagnosis, medicine names, doses and dates, when the growths increased, and previous treatment response for an examination. Photos alone cannot confirm warts or the cause of immune suppression.
“I take medicine after transplant, cancer or autoimmune treatment and the bumps on my hands or feet are increasing. What should I bring before a Seoul visit?”
AAD explains that weakened immunity from a condition or medicine can make warts harder to clear or widespread. Multiple bumps alone do not diagnose warts or immune deficiency. Other growths, including skin cancer, can resemble warts and need examination.

Do not stop immunosuppressants, cancer therapy or steroids without the prescriber. Bring diagnoses, medicine names, doses, schedule and change dates, recent results, the first lesion date and growth pattern, and reactions to acids or procedures. Fever, pus, rapid deterioration or severe pain needs timely local care rather than waiting for travel.
