Numbness or Tingling After Wart Cryotherapy: Should I Wait?

Temporary tingling or reduced sensation can occur after cryotherapy, but it is not evidence that the wart was successfully treated. Contact the treating clinic before another session if sensation persists or worsens, especially with severe pain, reduced movement, colour change or signs of infection.

“My fingertip feels numb after wart freezing. Can I wait until the next appointment?”

Numbness does not measure treatment success

Dermatology leaflets explain that numbness or loss of feeling can occur if a superficial nerve is frozen. A photo cannot establish the cause, and altered sensation does not show that the wart has cleared.

Record the area and contact the clinic for warning changes

Note onset, exact side, duration and differences in touch, temperature or movement. Seek prompt advice if numbness persists, spreads or worsens, or there is reduced movement, pale or blue colour, uncontrolled pain, spreading redness, warmth or pus. Do not refreeze or apply destructive home treatment without assessment.

Bomyung's clinical decision and your record

Near Gangnam Station, Seok-Yong Jo, PhD in Korean Medicine, draws on 24 years focused on wart care to review prior treatment with the current lesion. Dates, sessions, sensory area, wound, colour, movement, diabetes, circulation or nerve history, and medicines are checked. Bomyunghwan, Bomyungtang or pharmacopuncture are not promised immediately over an open wound or unexplained sensory change.

Questions before your visit

Is numbness normal?

It can be temporary, but duration and extent matter. Ask the treating clinic if it persists or worsens.

Can the area be frozen again?

Report the sensory change and have it assessed before deciding.

Does tingling mean the wart is dead?

No. Sensation cannot show HPV clearance or treatment success.
