Will piercing it relieve the pain?
Do not pierce or squeeze it; this can spread infection or further damage skin.

Do not assume that a suddenly painful, swollen cluster of finger blisters is a wart, and do not squeeze, cut or apply an acid wart remover. It may be herpetic whitlow or another infection. Keep it clean and covered, wash your hands, and arrange early local medical assessment.
“Several wart-like blisters appeared on my finger and they are very painful. Can I pierce them or use a wart remover?”
Common warts are usually rough, firm growths and may contain black dots. NHS describes herpetic whitlow with finger pain, swelling, blisters or sores, redness and sometimes fever. A photo cannot confirm either diagnosis, but sudden painful grouped blisters are a reason to assess infection before wart self-treatment.

NHS advises not squeezing fluid from suspected whitlow, keeping the finger clean and covered, and avoiding touching people or the eyes with it. Record onset, pain, fever, prior cold sores or genital herpes, recent skin breaks, products used and dated photos. High fever, rapid worsening or immune suppression needs more prompt local care.
