Will covering it with gel cure the wart?
No. Covering is not treatment and can make changes harder to observe.

A periungual wart does not create an automatic ban on manicures, but avoid cutting or filing the lesion or cuticle and breaking the skin. Do not share nail tools, disinfect them after use, and postpone work on the affected nail if it is bleeding, cracked or open until it has been assessed.
“I want gel nails to hide a wart beside my nail. Could the tools injure it or spread it?”
Cuticle cutting and filing can make a periungual lesion bleed. The NHS and DermNet advise against picking warts or biting skin around the nails. A manicure cannot be said to spread every wart, but work directly injuring the lesion should be avoided.

The AAD advises never sharing nail-grooming tools and disinfecting clippers after each use. At a salon, check that instruments and foot baths are sanitized, disclose the location and ask staff not to cut or file it.

Assessment comes before decoration or removal when there is bleeding, a crack or open skin, increasing redness, warmth, pus or pain, or a rapidly changing nail. Not every periungual bump is a viral wart.
Near Gangnam Station, Seok-Yong Jo, PhD in Korean Medicine, draws on 24 years focused on wart care to review previous treatment records with the current lesion. The visit checks nail change, picking or biting, freezing, laser and topical reactions, and the wound. If a viral wart is confirmed and Korean medicine is suitable, Bomyunghwan, Bomyungtang and selected local care may be considered individually; pharmacopuncture is not automatically used on an open wound.
