Can Photos Confirm a Wart Before I Travel to Seoul for Care?

Photos can show location, number, distribution and change over time, but they cannot guarantee a wart diagnosis, treatment method, duration or number of visits. Prepare one wider location photo, a focused close-up and a size photo with a ruler, plus prior treatment records. A rapidly growing, spontaneously bleeding or non-healing sore should be assessed locally in person rather than waiting for travel to Seoul.

“If I send photos from overseas, can you confirm it is a wart and tell me exactly what treatment I will receive in Seoul?”

Good photos support preparation

The AAD recommends images that are in focus, well-lit and free of glare or harsh shadows, with the color and texture seen in real life. Include a wider location image, a close-up and a ruler for scale rather than only one extreme close-up.

Confirm a secure submission route first

Skin photographs are medical information. The AAD advises contacting the clinician's office to learn how to send them securely. Do not place passports, identity documents or full medical records into a public first-contact message; first confirm the needed minimum information, available language and in-person appointment process.

State what a photo cannot establish

The AAD says rapidly growing, open-sore-like or treatment-resistant lesions may need biopsy. Mayo Clinic describes examination, surface assessment and biopsy when needed. A photo cannot provide palpation, dermoscopy or pathology and therefore cannot settle every differential diagnosis or treatment choice.

Bomyung's in-person decision

Near Gangnam Station, Seok-Yong Jo, PhD in Korean Medicine, draws on 24 years focused on wart care to review previous treatment records alongside the current lesion. Photos help document location and change; the visit reviews the lesion, skin, medicines and responses to freezing, laser or topical products. If a viral wart is confirmed and Korean medicine is suitable, Bomyunghwan, Bomyungtang and selected local care may be considered individually. Bomyung does not promise remote diagnosis, prescription or treatment duration.

Include this in the first enquiry

Exclude unnecessary identifying information and keep the summary practical.

  • Country, proposed visit dates and language needed
  • Location, onset date and order of spread
  • Dates and reactions to freezing, laser and removers
  • Medicines, allergies, diabetes or immune history, and whether a pathology report exists

Questions before your visit

Can a sharp photo confirm a wart?

It is supporting evidence, not a substitute for touch, dermoscopy or biopsy when needed.

Should I send my passport and entire chart?

Not in a public first message. Ask what minimum information and secure route are required.

Can photos predict how many visits I need?

No. Diagnosis, extent, treatment history and in-person findings change the plan.

Sources and limits

AAD photo/privacy advice and AAD/Mayo wart-diagnosis steps are applied here. They do not establish remote diagnosis or specific services at Bomyung; availability and language must be confirmed before travel.
